THE CAMP DAY
Explorers participate in our whole array of camp activities. Within the course of each week, Explorers have a solid introduction and the opportunity to participate and practice in each activity. Activity times are 1 hour and 10 minutes. Camper groups rotate outdoor lunch spots. There is an outdoor play time after lunch. The youngest camper groups also have a quiet storytime after lunch before resuming the other Camp activities.
ACTIVITY AREAS
Activities areas are spread out around Main Camp with clear boundaries for safety. They are separated by a one to five minute walk on trails through meadows and trees. Equipment is regularly checked for safety, sanitized between groups, and supply inventories are continually restocked.

GROUPS
Groups of up to ten campers are arranged in advance by grade levels within a two or three grade range. Groups with first graders have a maximum of seven campers per counselor. When requested on the registration form, old friends who are at the same or close in school grade level are placed together. Those who are coming to camp without a requested friend are all placed together in their own group, so it’s easier to make new friends.
GROUP COUNSELORS
Each group has its own well-referred kid-friendly senior staff group counselor who is always with their group of children and really gets to know each child within the group. There may also be a Counselor-in-Training with the group who assists the counselor. Campers develop Camp Spirit by working together to name their group, setting goals each morning and debriefing the day just before flag-lowering, and playing cooperative team-building games facilitated at the Challenge Course. At the end of every week, each camper is honored by their group counselor for positive traits or actions.

ACTIVITY INSTRUCTORS
Each activity has its own specialized instructor or team of instructors who present safe, supervised and progressive instruction in a fun and supportive atmosphere. Instruction and practice are individualized and geared toward the experience and skill level of each child within the different age groups.
TESTIMONIALS
As a career educator, I have been so impressed with the quality of programs offered at Colorado Mountain Ranch. The boys came home full of joy, wonder, music and friendship last summer. I couldn’t have asked for a greater blessing. They are still talking about their amazing experiences with you last year, singing your campfire songs and generally glowing with love for your program. Thank you so much for the opportunity!
