2024 BUS SAFETY

Reserved Bus; Each camper always rides on the same bus and in a seating area reserved for their group. Your child's bus may also have seating areas for two more groups close in school grade level and usually in the same program.

Reserved Seat; Campers each have their own seat on their own bus in order to keep groups together and to keep the seat reserved for your child's personal belongings.

Campers may share a seat with one another camper if  parents/guardians of both children have pre-authorized them to do so.. These campers need to be close in grade level, and in the same program.  We are no longer noting vaccination status.

Personal Cubby; Once in Camp, buses will be centrally parked and accessible throughout the day. Each camper’s bus seat will be their “personal cubby” for keeping their belongings separate from others.

Bus Pod; Explorer camper groups of 10-12 will ride on their bus with another group or groups usually in their same program. These campers form a "Bus Pod". The groups of older campers -Focus Campers, CITs, and WITs - may all ride together on one bus.

Air Circulation on Buses; The windows stay down for air circulation, so be sure your camper brings layers of clothing to wear for warmth. Everyone needs a warm jacket every day, no matter how hot it is in Boulder!

BUS DRIVERS AND STAFF

All drivers are safety-trained and experienced in their vehicle for city driving and on the Sunshine Canyon mountain route to Gold Hill. The full-size buses are driven by licensed CDL Drivers who are members of our own staff. Two more staff members ride along to entertain and interact with the campers.

WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT AT THE BUS STOP EACH DAY?

TESTIMONIALS

I had a dream last night that I was at the ranch. I want to tell you what an impact you had in my life. I am so glad I was lucky enough to spend all those summers (10 in all!). It was family to me and a big part of the person I became. I remember it like it was yesterday: horseback riding, singing “sunshine on my shoulders” to Sunshine the horse. Dinner in the lodge, making lanyards, playing capture-the flag, overnights, talent shows, finding fool’s gold, cooking out at the lake. It was magical.
